Funding Options at Olive Tree Therapy
At Olive Tree Therapy, we know that everyone has a different circumstance, that’s why we work with our clients to ensure that you can get the best funding option available to you.
Some of our common options for payment include the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Medicare, Private Health Insurance, or Fee Paying.

NDIS FUNDING
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a federal government program delivering funding and support for children and adults with a disability. As a registered NDIS provider we provide services for all types of NDIS Funding - agency, plan and self-managed - across most of our different services, including speech pathology, occupational therapy, dietetics, couselling, and therapy assistance.
To access NDIS funding, you or your child must first be assessed against the access requirements to confirm eligibility. Find out how the NDIS works by visiting the NDIS website or by giving them a call on 1800 800 110.
MEDICARE FUNDING
Medical practitioners, such as your GP, can refer patients to allied health professionals. They do this by creating a care plan to help manage chronic or terminal conditions including communication disorders. This can help subsidise the cost of sessions for the assessment, therapy and treatment of communication challenges, by allowing you to receive a rebate for a set number of appointments with one of our therapists. At Olive Tree Therapy, you must pay the full amount upfront, and then submit your invoice to Medicare to receive your rebate.
To access this funding you need to have a valid referral from a GP or an approved specialist setting out the Medicare code to be used for the session. You can find out more about Medicare funding by visiting their site or contacting them directly on 132 011.
PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE
Some private health funds may cover allied health health services (such as speech pathology, and occupational therapy) under your extras policy. Coverage and payment amounts will vary and may be subject to conditions depending on your policy and insurer.
If you wish to use your private health insurance to help subsidise the cost of therapy sessions, contact your health fund directly to confirm your eligibility. Please also let us know in advance if this is the option you are taking.
PRIVATE FEE-PAYING
If you are not covered by any of the above options, then our services can still be accessed by paying for the sessions in full yourself.
